Tucson Arts Brigade curated the selection of five local artists that will participate in a citywide graffiti abatement initiative.
Here are some of the locations where Tucson Arts Brigade’s previous mural projects have effectively prevented graffiti. Since 2009, neighborhoods who have participated in the organization’s program see nearby tagging decline at least 70 percent.
“Five Tucson artists will paint trash containers throughout the city under a new mural art pilot program intended to help curb graffiti.
The Tucson Arts Brigade, working with Tucson Environmental Services, hopes the program will also improve urban aesthetics and ultimately save taxpayers money on graffiti abatement.”
